I disassambled one and upgraded the other. Now I have the legendary version and also a new blue version (with a little yellow exclamation mark). I think the fact that they are iconic or whatever and can be remade isn't necessarily connected to this but there is, they say, a bug relating to iconic items with this flag. I haven't tried it yet because the crafting and upgrading options were so awful.
